Award Winning Eco Lodge And Coffee Farm on 247 Acres (Sold)

Award winning eco lodge on 247 acres with coffee production and farm to table gardens.

The expansive estate iis located 30 km north east of Matagalpa, in the central mountainous region of Nicaragua, Central America, at approximately 4000 feet (1200 meters). The property consists of 245 acres of preserved natural land with mature lush gardens and an ecolodge with 9 well-appointed cabin accommodations for 12-24 guests. Located in a cloud forest, the property features a large dining pavilion with a fully equipped commercial kitchen, gas stove/oven as well as a rustic traditional Nicaraguan kitchen with a wood-fired bread oven.

A 1200ft2 pavilion provides a lounging area for relaxation or for yoga and meditation while looking out over panoramic views of hundreds of kilometers, surrounded by lush vegetation, birds, and other wildlife. A separate open air 800ft2 dining area, with space to serve up to 50 people as they dine overlooking a spectacular view of the coffee farm and Dariense mountains.

The farm consists of 28 acres of shade-grown organic coffee. Varieties: Java, Parainema and Ethiosar. Just this year, 14,000 new seedlings have been started in our nursery for planting this June to October.

Potable and secure mountain spring water supplies the entire facility from a high point of the property which powers the hydro-generators at the hotel. A photovoltaic solar power system which provides electricity to the main lodge, each cabin, and other areas of the property. The hydro-generator system acts as a backup to the solar power system, providing energy for the hotel 24/7. The central hot water showers are heated by firewood.

Nestled in the cloud forest and a private reserve, the property has a river, waterfalls (one with a swimming hole) and creeks interlaced with five well marked hiking trails. You have miles of tropical forest/ jungle with lookouts that offer incredible views. Over 250 species of birds are noted with frequent bird listings found on eBird. Sloths, Howler monkeys, butterflies, and other wildlife are sited every day around the lodge. A well established organic garden supplies the lodge guests and staff with fresh vegetables, herbs and fruit for our farm to table dining experience.

The property provides cell phone service and dedicated WiFi. Knowledgeable staff and guides at the ecolodge as well as farm workers who have been at FEV for several years will stay on.

In addition there are 20 acres on the property perfectly suited for building lots/homesites to create a residential community. Separate plans of 1/2-1 acre lots are available upon request.
